Routes in New Zealand / New Zealand / Chatswood

Starts with a steep climb up steps from the corner of River Avenue and Delhi Road to a mini-plateau, then following the edge of the Crematorium down Quebec Road.

The next segment of the Great North Walk starts on the right, near the bottom of the hill.  There's about a hundred metres of very soggy trail, but it dries off after that.

When you get to Epping Road, you can go right under it, then circle up along Epping Road to get across the Lane Cove River, then turn right after the first few buildings onto a trail set back from Epping Road, which quickly leads across a footbridge.

Stay close to the bush in Magdala Park, and you'll soon pick up the Great North Walk again.

Near the end there is a boardwalk out across a piece of the Lane Cove River, quite spectacular at high tide (no handrails).

The track finishes up at a small carpark off Pittwater Road, just south of Rene Street.  You can continue south along the Great North Walk if you like.
