Route Loop Track at Lake Parramatta  

A good track for taking kids.  Plenty of scenery and different kinds of plants and birds.  There's a few different signposted tracks, but it's no big deal if you choose the wrong way.

There's steps down from the Illawong Drive near the start, to take the more scenic route.

About 2 km to the half-way point, where there are stepping stones across the creek.

Towards the end of the track there is a big dam, which looks great when there's been lots of rain.  The track then winds down to the creek below, where there is a series of a dozen stepping stones to cross.

There are ducks and other kinds of water birds, and a playground near the carpark for the little ones.

The gate to the carpark shuts at 5:30pm (or at 7:30pm during daylight savings time).
