Route Epping Station to Cheltenham Station via Lane Cove National Park  

Good walk for young kids, can be done without a car, but the causeway enroute is impassable for about 7 days after heavy rains.

Look carefully for the route under the M2 Motorway near corner of Derby Street and Somerset Street.

After having followed the creek for some time, the track peels away from the creek, then climbs a hill.  Make sure to turn left there, downhill, otherwise you'll wander off into the larger part of Lane Cove National Park.

Soon it comes to another junction where there is big causeway to the left of the track.  Turn left through the causeway and follow the track north-west.  At the next big junction turn left, along for awhile, up some big old stone steps onto Malton Road and Day Road.  Cheltenham Station is then not far away.
